Jackson presented to the GNMH emergency department with a painful and swollen right arm. During an attempted basketball dunk, his arm got caught in the hoop, causing him to fall awkwardly to the ground.

Physical examination showed swelling of the proximal forearm, dorsal of the hand, and fingers. He was able to extend his fingers. Sensibility and vascularization of the right hand were unaffected indicating that no nerves were damaged.

He is scheduled to follow up with an orthopedic surgeon within the week and review his X-ray.
