Think (Who)
This first step in the Community Partnership Framework, Think, is vital to determine the direction the community partnership team will take. Use the following prompts to guide your thinking about creating your team and Who might be the best stakeholders to join you.
- Identify potential partners. Who are potential partners to do this
work with you?
How might they be important to the partnership?
- Think of people you have met at networking events, such as Chamber of Commerce meetings, Regional Career Technical Education (CTE) meetings, or City Council sessions.
- Who do you know at colleges, universities, non-profits?
- Are industry experts or HR professionals among your contacts?
- Conduct outreach by sending emails to potential partners. You can
use the PLTW curriculum
resources at pltw.org to give
potential partners an idea of what your students are learning in class.
- Engage with the potential partners you identified.
- Invite them to your classroom to see PLTW in action.
- Ask them to join your partnership team to help shape the scope of work for the team.
- Identify the roles and responsibilities of each team member. Who are the convener/leader, key partners, experts, and support?
